The digital interface unit DIUC is used to connect digital exchange systems and PABXs via PCM30 lines or analog exchange systems and PABXs via A/D converters, PCM30 multiplexers and PCM30 lines to Hicom.

• Reference clock The DIUC provides a reference clock for the clock generator PCG which is normally obtained from the PCM link. For this purpose, the reference clock table must be correctly assigned according to the network topology (REFTA AMO).
• Adapter plugs Adapters are available for connecting electric (copper) and photoelectric (optical fibre) transmission paths over medium and long distances. • Signal amplifier LTC with DIUC Q2085 The LTC can be used to increase the DIUC range to approximately 2 km. The LTC is plugged in the DIUC location and the DIUC in the next higher mounting location.
• Extended transmission range with DIUC Q2185 This DIUC variant has built in repeaters which allow a maximum range of 2 kilometers. The board is permanently configured for maximum transmission range, i.e. jumper settings are not necessary.
