The DM3L (Data Processor Mono 386 with LAN-Interface) board is divided into three blocks according to function. The main processor unifies the functionality of the DP and IOPA modules. A 386DX microprocessor with 50MHz clock frequency (25 MHz processor bus frequency) is used as the CPU. This microprocessor has access to a local bus and to the system bus. On-board I/O ports and memory, local memory and the SCSI and LAN controllers with their I/O ports are connected to the local bus. The V.24 block comprises the LCU function. Its control can be assumed either by the 386DX via the local bus, or by the signal processor configurable by software.
