The main function of the AC4 attendant console of the Hicom 300 / 300 E / 300 H communication server is to switch external and internal voice connections. One or more consoles can be installed, depending on the size of the system and the structure of the company or organization.

Attendant terminal

The attendant terminal consists of a movable control unit, a graphical LC display, a control panel and a plug-in headset.The control panel contains:

a pad with 12 keys,29 function and program keys for Hicom features,24 light-emitting diodes (LEDs) to show the status of the function and program keys, 40 freely programmable repertory keys for internal or externals users,and two keys for setting the volume of the call signal.

Pictograms emphasize the function of the control keys and allow easy operation. The graphical LC display has 12 lines each with 26 or 40 characters, depending on character size or language version.

Switching layout

The switching display appears on the graphical LC display in a specific “switching layout”. Trunk calls, attendant calls, and personal calls waiting to be answered are shown on the first three lines. The remaining lines show call charges, the origins of answered calls or the destinations of dialed connections, and additional information. The date and time are also permanently displayed.

Memory layout

The memory layout is used to display, select, and change functions such as night service options,class-of-service changeover,assignment of repertory keys and alarm messages.

Supplementary equipment

The AC4 attendant console offers the option of connecting the following supplementary equipment:

headset,tape recorder or voice recording unit,blind attendant terminal,second handset or call monitor.
