The SICOE (Signaling Unit with Conference and Extension) supplies the 600 ECX system with audible tones, announcements, music on hold and the central switching network extension.

The SICOE consists of the following functional units:

• Signalling unit and conference unit (SICO)
• Switching network extension (MTS)

The board, with its central functional units "Signalling unit and conference unit (SICO)" and "Switching network extension (MTS)", is installed in the central system shelf.

The SICOE has the following functions:

• Audible tone generation
• Dial tone receivers
• MF signal receivers
• Short voice announcements
• Music on hold (MOH)
• Conference connections
• Test generator/test receiver

The board represents a separate functional unit in the LTG of the 600 ECX.

The hardware code differentiates between

• SICOE with switching network extension: "2E0XH"
• SICOE without switching network extension: "2E1XH"

The front panel of the board contains one red LED and one green LED.
