The DM3L (Data Processor Mono 386 with LAN-Interface) board for Hicom 300/300E, is divided into three blocks according to function. The main processor unifies the functionality of the DP and IOPA modules. A 386DX microprocessor with 50MHz clock frequency (25 MHz processor bus frequency) is used as the CPU. This microprocessor has access to a local bus and to the system bus. On-board I/O ports and memory, local memory and the SCSI and LAN controllers with their I/O ports are connected to the local bus. The V.24 block comprises the LCU function. Its control can be assumed either by the 386DX via the local bus, or by the signal processor configurable by software.

With the SCSI interface the DM3L connects to external bulk data storage systems. The LAN node forms a high speed interface to other modules and off-system components.

The functional states of the DP section are indicated by a 7-segment display.

All on-board functions can be reset using the reset button. The LCT button makes it possible to choose the boot medium from Cartridge ("Load Cartridge Tape"). A tumbler switch controls the behavior of two of the four V.24 interfaces (synchronous or asynchronous operation).
