In the Hicom 300 system the MIP (Memory and Interface Processor) board has the task of controlling the message exchange between the switching unit (SWU) and the service modules (SM). The memory unit of the MIP is set up as a dynamic memory and used as a dual port RAM and as a common memory for the multibus. In duplex mode, the MIP is used as a cross channel (CCH).
The front panel of the board contains a 7-segment display and a reset key.
