The LBU (Line Control/Line Bus Control) board for Hicom 300E offers two V.24 interfaces on the front panel for connecting terminals and/or data processing systems. In addition, the board links active peripheral boards with the DP multibus for configuring the service modules. The two functional units are entirely separate, so that the line control and line bus control can be operated separately or together, at the appropriate slots.

The operating mode decoder of the LBU determines the operating mode according to the occupied slot.

The front panel of the board contains 3 LEDs (RUN, H2, H3), 1 INT-key and 2 V.24 interfaces.
