The optiPoint 500 basic belongs to the  optiPoint 500 family. The concept of the optiPoint 500 family provides access to the features of each HiPath - / Hicom - systems.

As a system phone, it is operated only on the Siemens HiPath and Hicom PBXs. The operating principle is characterized by three dialog keys which, in combination with the display, provide an interactive user interface. In addition, the keyboard lights reveal the activated functions. The various control functions are clearly divided into sub-menus and readable on the display. In addition, the selection of the features can be initiated by code directly via the service key. Important functions can be stored individually under a function key. A PC can be connected via the integrated USB 1.1 interface. Call Bridge for Data makes the PC a platform for communication for data. With the TAPI Service Provider Call Bridge TU, telephone connections and applications on the PC are possible. With An innovative adapter concept as extension to the phones, specific job requirements can quickly be responded to. With simple installation and removal of different adapters on the bottom of the phones, other devices (such as fax machines, telephones, headsets) can be connected directly.
