The STMI2 (Subscriber Trunk Module IP HiPath 3570 V2.0) board provides the interface for HiPath 4000 in an IPDA system (IP Distributed Architecture). The board converts the voice data from the PCM highways into IP data for the 10/100Base-T LAN interface.The STMI2 can also be implemented as HiPath HG3530 (integrated IP gateway for HFA HiPath Feature Access) or as HiPath HG 3550 (integrated IP gateway for IP Trunking).

The STMI2 board offers the following central and peripheral functions:

• Two network accesses to 10/100Base-T Fast Ethernet, comparable with HiPath RG2500
• Voice encoding functions (based on DSP), comparable with HiPath RG2500
• Backplane interface for a default peripheral board
• V.24 interface for test access (service interface)
